Below, member Alex Vankoughnett reflects on the challenges workers face due to high housing costs.

With housing and food costs skyrocketing, join Ontarians in advocating for those running for elected office to tackle the affordability crisis in Ontario.

Alex Vankoughnett, No Frills

“Rising housing costs and the living wage gap are important issues to me.

The average cost of a bachlor’s apartment can be greater than the monthly income of a minimum wage worker. It’s time we as Canadians say enough is enough and this needs to change.

We need to elect those who have the best interest of the working citizens of this country and have a solid plan to fix the issue.

The Conservatives have shown their hand towards the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and the Liberals have made it impossible to get affordable housing. It’s time to make a real change and to make the Canadian dream a reality."
