UFCW 1006A members at the Comfort Inn hotel in Guelph have ratified a new union contract, with significant gains.
“We came to a good agreement that will benefit us as workers,” said Amanda Poole, a negotiating committee member. “The membership was happy with it.”
Poole said she learned a lot about the process by being part of the negotiating committee and seeing how the contract comes together.
The term of the contract is from April 10, 2025 to April 9, 2028 and covers 14 members.
The negotiating committee included 1006A member, Amanda Poole, and Union Representatives, Kallisha Hoyes and Greg Penner.
“Hotel workers across Ontario know UFCW representation is the pathway to improving their wages, benefits and working conditions,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Congratulations to our negotiating committee and to our membership for achieving this strong and fair union contract.”
