UFCW 1006A members at Days Inn in Woodstock ratified a new union contract.
The term of the contract is from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2027 and covers 35 members.
“All across Ontario, UFCW 1006A negotiating committees are making a difference for our members in the hotel industry,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Congratulations to our members at this hotel for achieving a fair union contract. Our strong track record and experience is why we are Ontario’s best union for hotel workers.”
The negotiating committee included members, Crystal Smith and Union Representatives Joe Blythe and Kyle McGreal.

- New language to ensure housekeepers can complete their work at a reasonable pace

- New statutory holiday: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
- New language to ensure members have job security in the event of an extended layoff for renovation
