UF/CW 1006A members at Ryder Truck Rental have ratified a new union contract with several gains.

The term of the contract is from July 2, 2023 to July 1, 2026 and covers nearly 40 workers.

The negotiating committee include members Michael Creary, Ron Singh and Union Representatives Dustin Magee and Joshua Robichaud.

“Union representation has provided workers at Ryder Truck Rental with the tools to build a fairer workplace and improve their livelihoods and working conditions,” said President Wayne Hanley. “We are proud of our exceptional negotiating committee for their hard work and thank our members for their support. Together, UFCW 1006A continues to transform workplaces and communities across Ontario.”

1006A members at Ryder Truck Rental perform a variety of duties, including running machines, loading and unloading trucks and moving product with forklifts and handpicks. They work as material handlers, team leads, and coordinator customer logistics.

Highlights

- Wage increases ($3 over term of contract)

- Additional paid sick day

- Increase to uniform allowance to $250
