Ontario's Union for fairness, equality and respect at work.

June is National Indigenous History Month.

“UFCW 1006A is proud to celebrate National Indigenous History Month and honour the achievements and contributions of Canada’s First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Together, we continue our work to raise awareness about the cultures and traditions of Indigenous communities across Turtle Island and pledge to stand in solidarity in seeking justice and achieving reconciliation."

Observed since 2009, this month is an opportunity to build awareness and solidarity with the Canada's First Nations, Inuit and Metis communities.

1006A encourages our members to learn more about the rich histories, cultures and traditions of Canada’s Indigenous communities, to educate friends and family and work as allies in eliminating racism and inequity, seeking justice and achieving reconciliation.

1006A will also be observing National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.
