UFCW 1006A's Health and Safety Department continues its work to keep our members safe, through online seminars for stewards and activists.
On April 20, the department held a Zoom seminar on “Noise and Hearing Loss Prevention."
In January, the Health and Safety Department held another seminar on "Preventing Trips, Slips and Falls in the Workplace."
These seminars are about educating and empowering union stewards with the knowledge they need to help protect our members.
Workplace injuries can happen to anyone, whether you are young or old, a newly hired worker or a long-time employee.
Our Health and Safety Department reports that common types of injuries include: strains/sprains, cuts/punctures, scrapes, bruises and pinches.
If you notice a health and safety concern, please contact the joint health and safety representative at your workplace or contact 1006A Health & Safety Representative Rick Young.
