1006A President Wayne Hanley is the 2019 recipient of the Roland B. Scott Award from the UFCW Minority Coalition.
"I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for this award. I’m honoured to receive the Ronald B. Scott award,” said President Wayne Hanley.
"We are proud of the work we all do and you all do to end Sickle Cell Anemia and to strengthen our communities."
President Hanley also congratulated UFCW Minority Coalition President Don Cash and his executive team on a successful year.
The award was announced at the UFCW Minority Coalition Annual Ball. Ronald B. Scott was a paediatrician and expert on Sickle Cell disease.
"We are dedicated to making a difference and standing up for diversity and equality at work and in our communities,” said President Hanley. "Each of us has the power to create change and next year, let us reaffirm our commitment to be courageous, strong and continue our work to build a better world. "
The UFCW Canada Minority Coalition works to develop a unified voice, and promote diversity and inclusion within the labour movement.
