Workers from Brandt Meats recently ratified a new four-year union contact.
Gains included fair monetary increases, paid family day and an increase to pension.
Dustin Magee led negotiations for the union, with support from Lino Cabral, Patrick Maiorano and Roland Geier.
The deal covers 60 employees and runs from March 14, 2019 to March 14, 2023.
During bargaining, the company tabled some concessions. “It was a fight right up until the last day of bargaining,” said lead negotiator Magee. "I am really proud of the work the committee put in."
“Congratulations to our negotiating committee for their hardwork, dedication and leadership in securing a fair contract for our membership at Brandt Meats,” said President Wayne Hanley. “The strong union representation we provide is a testament to why we are Ontario’s best union."
