Local 1006A members at Canada Catering voted for a new union contract.
The three year agreement runs from Jan. 1, 2019 to December 31, 2021.
Bargaining by led by Union Representative Kevin Bacon, with support from Regional Director Brian Reid, and members, Amanda Pitter and Kate Rowbotham.
“I’m proud to congratulate our outstanding bargaining committee for their hard work securing a fair contract for our members at Canada Catering,” said President Wayne Hanley.
“Contract gains do not happen in isolation, they happen because of the solidarity and commitment of the membership.”
Gains included improved vacation language, better scheduling language, annual wage increases (over and above any minimum wage increases) for members, improved seniority language, option for senior people to work stat holiday for premium pay.
