It is with great sadness that we announce that our Brother, Rob Murphy passed away suddenly Tuesday night.
Rob was a member of UFCW since the late 1970's. He became a Union Staff Representative in 1995, looking after many members that worked at a variety of workplaces and negotiating several collective bargaining agreements. Rob was appointed to sit as a Trustee on the UFCW Health & Welfare Plans. In 2013, he accepted the role as Assistant to the President John Hurley with Local 206.
When Locals 206 and 1000A merged in 2016 and formed Local 1006A, Rob became a Vice President on the Executive Board. Over his career, Rob's dedication and hard work enabled him to assist many UFCW members across Ontario. He will be greatly missed by many.
Our thoughts are with Rob's family during this difficult time.
