Congratulations to Connor Hartson, who works at Gord and Kim's No Frills in Kingston, Ontario. Connor will take home the March prize of $50 in President's Choice gift cards for his winning entry in the 2016 Share Your Story contest.
Connor's entry:
"Education is very important nowadays. I knew from a young age that my goal was to pursue a post-secondary education. I also knew that pursuing such a goal was going to cost a lot. To alleviate such costs, I needed a job. In 2011, I got hired at Gord and Kim’s No Frills in Kingston Ontario. It is now 5 years later in 2016, I’m still working at No Frills and completing my second year of my Undergraduate program at Queen’s University. I am very grateful to my union for protecting my rights as a No Frills employee. Upon starting my university studies in 2014, I applied for the UFCW Local 1000A scholarship. In 2015, I found out that I won a $700 scholarship for a poster I created. Since the union’s scholarship helped reduce the high cost of university, the union has made a positive impact in my life." – Connor Hartson, Gord and Kim's No Frills in Kingston
