Workers at iFLY TORONTO, an indoor skydiving facility, have voted overwhelmingly ‘YES’ to joining UFCW Canada Local 1006A.
The ballots were counted on June 10, 2016.
“Union representation is the key to a better future for workers across Ontario and UFCW Canada Local 1006A is the best choice for workers seeking to achieve fairness, respect, and dignity in their workplace,” said Wayne Hanley, Local 1006A President. “I am proud to welcome our newest members from iFLY TORONTO to the Local 1006A family and congratulate them on their strength and unity in achieving union representation.”
Local 1006A has a strong track record of protecting and improving members’ rights, resolving problems that arise in the workplace, and negotiating strong collective agreements.
“Through a strong vote, workers at iFLY TORONTO have shown their commitment and determination to work together to improve their workplace,” said Jonathan Lobo, Coordinator of Organizing for the local union.
Local 1006A represents approximately 25 workers at the Oakville-based company, which provides visitors with the experience of skydiving in an safe and supervised indoor environment.
