UFCW 1006A members at Best Western Brantford ratified a new union contract.
The term of the contract is from January 15, 2025 to January 15, 2028 and covers 56 members.
“We are proud to congratulate our members at Best Western Brantford for achieving significant gains to their new contract,” said President Wayne Hanley. “UFCW 1006A has a strong track record of representing hotel workers and empowering them to secure fair union contracts. Our union has extensive experience in protecting and improving the rights and livelihoods of workers in the hotel sector.”
The negotiating committee included members, Tracey Goodnough and Union Representatives, Kyle McGreal and Ric Pereira.
Highlights
- Wage increases of 8.5 per cent over the term of the contract. Retroactive pay for all hours worked from January 15, 2025 – April 24, 2025
- Minimum wage protection language
- Increased shoe allowance
- Improved vacation language
- Improved Health and Safety Committee language
- New WSIB language
- Increased employer contribution to workers’ Health & Welfare benefits.
