After three days of voting, from July 11 to July 14, members working at No Frills voted 96% in favour of a strike mandate.
Members turned out in unprecedented numbers to deliver a resounding message that they deserve a fair contract. Thank you to the thousands of members who participated in this important vote and made your voice heard – your union negotiating committee is stronger because of your support.
Now, your union negotiating committee will return to the table with a strong strike mandate to demand our members’ proposals are taken seriously and ensure your needs are met through a fair offer.
New negotiations dates have been scheduled with the company from July 24 to 28. Your union negotiating committee is working hard to ensure you get the best deal possible.
I’ll have more to report after our next negotiations session – please keep an eye on your email and your union bulletin board for future updates.
As always, your union representatives are available to answer any questions you may have.
In Solidarity,
Wayne Hanley (he/him)
President, UFCW Canada Local 1006A
