UFCW Canada Local 1006A flags flew high over Brockville as union members, staff and friends marched through the downtown on Saturday, July 16, 2016 for the city’s annual Pride Parade.
The community event started at Brockville Armoury and ended at Hardy Park.
"Our participation in Brockville Pride is about celebrating the rich diversity in our union and in our communities,” said President Wayne Hanley. "It is also about standing up for equality, fairness and human rights with our sisters, brothers and friends in the LGBTQ community."
“Thank you to our union for its incredible support of LGBTQ rights — it was amazing to see so many people come out,” said Ian Stables, a member of Local 1006A’s Pride Advisory Committee who works at Brockville’s Real Canadian Superstore.
