UFCW 1006A members at Econolodge in Kingston have ratified a new union contract.
The term of the contract is from October 1, 2024 to September 30, 2027 and covers 10 members.
“UFCW 1006A has a long and established track record of winning gains and raising standards for workers in the hotel industry,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Our union provides unionized hotel workers with exceptional support and representation at work. I’m pleased to congratulate our members at this hotel on securing a fair union contract.”
The union negotiating committee included members, Stephanie Clarey, Larry Jameson and Union Representatives Joe Blythe and Gloria Elstone.
"Everyone who came to vote was happy with the contract," said Jameson. "It was good that we got the five sick days."
