UFCW 1006A members at Nitta Gelatin in Toronto have ratified a new union contract.
The term of the contract is from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2027.
"I was personally very happy with the new contract," said Todd Gariepy, a member of the negotiating committee. "The wage increase for the mechanics is very reasonable and needed and the increase in the benefits was welcome. These were long days of negotiations so this being my first time and negotiating it was a great experience."
The negotiating committee included members, Craig Appleby, Todd Gariepy and Union Representative, Jonathan Lobo.
“I’m proud to congratulate members at Nitta Gelatin on their new union contract,” said President Wayne Hanley. “With our membership’s support and participation, our negotiating committee had the added strength they needed to secure significant gains and improvements.”
