UFCW 1006A took to the streets of London, Ontario to celebrate Pride.
“London Pride was a great and amazing experience,” said Paul Milam, a member of the 1006OUTreach committee. “It was great to support the 2SLGBTQIA+community in London with my union and I am proud to be part of 1006OUTreach.”
The event took place on July 21, 2024 and is the third pride event for the local union’s 1006OUTreach committee.
1006A members also participated in Brockville Pride and Toronto Pride earlier this summer. The next major event for 1006OUTreach will be Ottawa Pride on August 25.
“UFCW 1006A is proud to stand in solidarity with our members in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, today and always,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Our participation is about standing up for equality, justice and human rights. I’m proud of our 1006OUTreach members for their hard work in supporting our union’s presence in Pride events across Ontario.”
