UFCW 1006A is proud to congratulate our members at Homewood Suites in Markham on their new union contract.
The contract term is from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2026 and covers 35 workers.
“It was an eye-opening experience to be part of the negotiations process,” said Carol Wynter, a long-time member. “I have been here a long time and I think the contract is good compared to what we had before. We got a personal day that we never had before and the next time around, we are going to aim for more.”
The union committee included union member, Carol Wynter and Union Representative Joe Blythe.
“UFCW 1006A has extensive experience and knowledge in representing workers in the hotel sector,” said President Wayne Hanley. “I want to thank the membership for their support and congratulate the union negotiating committee for securing this fair union contract.”
