This International Women's Day (IWD), UFCW 1006A is proud to come together to Inspire Inclusion - the theme for 2024.
Inspiring Inclusion means building understanding about the value of women's inclusion.
As the IWD website states, "When women aren't present, we must ask: 'If not, why not?'; When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. And we must do this each time, every time."
1006A's Women's Issues Network members will be commemorating IWD this month through various initiatives. The local union participated in the Toronto IWD march on Saturday, March 2 in downtown Toronto.
Women continue to play vital roles as stewards, staff and leaders within our union.
We all have a role to play to Inspire Inclusion and to build fairer and more just workplaces and communities for all.
