UFCW 1006A members at Centre éducatif La Clémentine achieved many gains in their first union contract.
The term of the contract is from November 1, 2023 to October 31, 2025 and covers 76 workers.
The negotiating committee included members, Nabouka Abraham, Fatouma Mohamed, Mensa Joseph, Saraphina Lundy, Joelle Rwabirindi and Union Representative John Conway.
The non-profit unilingual Francophone organization serves children from 18-months up to 12 years at five locations in Ottawa.
Members work in a variety of roles including: Registered Early Childhood Educator, kitchen attendant and substitute on call.
