UFCW 1006A is proud to congratulate Winston Gordon for being named the recipient of the UFCW International Minority Coalition Community Partner Award.
Winston has been a Local Union President, organizer, Union Representative, negotiator, Executive Board member and loyal member of UFCW Canada for more than 35 years.
He has contributed to the growth of the UFCW through his tireless efforts of community involvement and partners. He has expanded the growth and diversity efforts of UFCW. He has been a leader in raising funds and awareness for Sickle Cell research through his work with the Minority Coalition.
“I’m proud to congratulate Winston on this important achievement and his lifetime contributions to the UFCW family,” said President Wayne Hanley. “Winston has worked tirelessly to serve the membership, champion workers’ rights and has been a pioneer in diversity efforts at the UFCW. Thank you for your hardwork in continuing to make a difference in the lives of our members.”
Winston Gordon, 1006A Union Representative, was recognized at the annual UFCW International Minority Coalition event.
“I am honoured to be recognized by my UFCW Minority Coalition family,” said Winston. “It’s my life’s mission to serve our members and work for diversity and equality within our union family and I am thankful for the support of our union leadership, particularly Wayne, in helping me on this journey. I got a lot of help along the way from people I met in the UFCW family, including local union staff, and I am grateful for this help.”
