Your union invites you to join us for Light the Night to help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma and other blood cancers. Local 1006A has registered as a team and will participate in Light the Night Walks in Ottawa, Toronto and London. Fundraising from team members helps blood cancer patients live longer and funds lifesaving research.
Team members will carry lanterns symbolizing light in the dark world of cancer. Patients and survivors will carry white lanterns, supporters will carry red lanterns and those who have lost loved ones will carry gold lanterns. The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society provides lanterns and t-shirts to participants who raise $100 or more.
The scheduled walks are:
Ottawa: Saturday October 21 – Landsdowne Park
Toronto: Thursday October 19 – Nathan Phillips Square
London: Saturday October 14 – Victoria Park
