Local 1006A members working for Plaza Premium Lounge at Pearson Airport ratified a union contract following a difficult set of negotiations with their employer.

“The wage increase was definitely a highlight,” said Manasha Perera, a member of the union negotiating committee.

Members work at a variety of sites, including Princess Margaret Hospital, Mount Sinai Hospital, Humber River Health, and retirement homes and food service locations throughout the GTA.

This October, Local 1006A’s three teams in London, Toronto, and Ottawa raised nearly $24,000 for the LLSC.
