The Union Negotiations Committee held its first meeting on February 24, as part of the ongoing preparations for No Frills negotiations.

UFCW 1006A members at Marek (formerly Canada Catering) have voted for a new union contract with several gains, including wage increases.

PetSmart workers in a Toronto location (Yonge St and Empress Ave) have voted to join UFCW 1006A, becoming the latest group in the retail sector to win union representation.

Members at Laura’s YIG have ratified a new agreement with enhanced severance packages, worth up to $75,000, as their store sets to close.

UFCW Canada Local 1006A continues to grow with workers from Kintetsu World Express voting to join the union family.

Workers should not be forced to make the choice between their health and their paycheque.

UFCW 1006A is calling on Loblaw to immediately reinstate the program that directly paid workers when they were sick or isolating due to an exposure.
