Supported by your strong strike mandate, negotiations with Loblaws Supermarkets Ltd. resumed on May 26.
Your negotiating committee requested a “no board” report from the conciliation officer, which puts the membership in a legal strike position on July 2 if it is required.
Due to the progress being made at the table, negotiations were extended through the weekend. This resulted in a memorandum of agreement being reached with the company in the early hours of the morning on Monday, June 1.
Your support and participation throughout these negotiations was critical in achieving this settlement.
Your negotiating committee believes the memorandum of agreement is a fair one. It provides wage increases, improvements to benefits and scheduling, and protection from third party work. Your committee unanimously recommends ratification of the memorandum.

Your unions, UFCW Canada Locals 175 & 633 and 1000A, participated in solidarity bargaining for members working at Loblaws Great Food and Superstores, Zehrs, Zehrs Great Food and Superstore and Fortinos stores across Ontario.
Ratification Meeting Schedule:
There will be two formal presentations of the tentative Memorandum of Agreement. The first will commence at 10:00 am and the second will commence at 7:00 pm. The polling station and ballot box will be open for voting shortly after the start of the 10:00 am meeting and will remain open for members to vote until 10:00 pm on the day of your scheduled ratification meeting.
