Your union bargaining committee finished three days of negotiations with your employer. Your bargaining committee met on Monday March 2 and then met with your employer on March 3, 4, and 5. Several passes of bargaining proposals were conducted and sub-committees were struck to deal with specific issues.
Our goal during negotiations continues to be securing the best possible deal for you and your co-workers — one with fair wages, benefits improvements, scheduling improvements and limits on third-party providers (so workers’ hours are protected and not cut). Our members’ future and livelihood are our foremost concerns at the bargaining table.
Your unions, UFCW Canada Locals 175 & 633 and 1000A are participating in solidarity bargaining. This means we have the power and strength of 28,000 members coming together; working at Zehrs, Zehrs Great Food and Superstore, Fortinos, Loblaws Great Food and Superstore, stores across Ontario.
We are still at the early stages of bargaining and we will continue to negotiate with the company until we achieve a fair deal.
Member participation is essential. The more engaged you and your co-workers are the stronger we will be at the bargaining table. Please check your union website and/or union bulletin boards for any updates and information on how you can participate.
Negotiations will resume on April 21, 22, and 23.
Together, let us make fairness happen at the bargaining table.
