UFCW Canada Local 1000A, which represents more than 130 locked out workers at Ryding-Regency Meatpackers Ltd, reached a tentative agreement with the company on Wednesday, September 18.
Ryding Regency locked out Local 1000A members on August 30, bringing months of negotiations to an abrupt end. In the 20 days since the lockout started, workers showed their courage, determination and solidarity in the 24-hour picket lines they held in front of the facility.
The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the membership.
The ratification vote will take place on SEPT 20 at the Royal Canadian Legion-Branch 266 (3591 DUNDAS STREET WEST, TORONTO, M6S 2T1) at NOON.
Details of the agreement will be announced post ratification.
The union's bargaining committee is recommending acceptance of the tentative agreement.
