With a bouncing castle, potato sack race, and an all-you-can-eat BBQ, UFCW Canada Local 1000A welcomed members to the London Family & Friends Picnic on July 6.
Members brought children and grandchildren along to the event at Springbank Park.
“It’s great and there is lots for the kids to do,” said Donna German, a steward at a Great Food store in London who brought her granddaughter, Sierrah, to the event.
The event also featured soccer, facepainting, and a colouring contest.
Matthew Shepley, a steward at a No Frills in London, said the event went great.
“The weather was beautiful, the games were fun and the food was delicious,” Shepley said, adding union events like these allow people to bond and connect outside of their workplace.
Hollie La Pointe, who works at a Superstore in London, brought her four kids to the picnic.
“They all had fun.”
