We are proud to welcome workers at LensCrafters Markville into the Local 1000A family. Workers at the Markham location recently voted overwhelmingly to join the local union.
The workers wanted fairness and respect in their workplace and they felt joining a union was the key to achieving their goals.
“This was a worker driven campaign and we commend the workers at LensCrafters Markville for coming together and standing up for what they believe in,” said Jonathan Lobo, Organizing Coordinator for Local 1000A.
Local 1000A represents three other LensCrafters stores at Eaton's Centre, Yorkdale and Burlington.
“On behalf of Local 1000A, I congratulate the workers for their courage and determination in achieving this victory for their future,” said Pearl Sawyer, President of Local 1000A.
