Following a ratification vote, the production of the collective agreement booklets is an intensive process. The union and the employer work together to ensure all negotiated changes are correctly incorporated into the new collective agreement. This is a very lengthy and arduous process as every word and every detail is important.
As such, the production of the 2010-2015 collective agreement for Loblaws, Loblaws Great Food and Real Canadian Superstore is still in progress.
The union is doing its part by responding to the company on the collective agreement as quickly as possible, however, we cannot control how long the company takes when they are reviewing it.
The union’s plan is to produce three separate books, one for Loblaws, one for Loblaw Great Food and one for Real Canadian Superstore. At this point, the Loblaw Great Food portion of the collective agreement is in its final stages in a draft format. Since we have determined it is in our members’ best interest to receive a Loblaw Great Food book as quickly as possible, we will be proceeding with the draft format. Within the book, we will include notes on the few outstanding issues that remain to be resolved with the company.
The RCSS portion of the collective agreement is still in progress. It is being prepared for printing in draft format as the collective bargaining agreement has not being signed off.
In the meantime, we encourage you to reference the memorandum of settlement that was ratified in October 2010 with your collective agreement that expired on July 1, 2010.
