December 13, 2011 - Members employed by No Frills attended membership meetings and polling stations across Ontario to review the negotiated memorandum of agreement and to cast their ballot in a ratification vote.
On Monday December 12, 2011, following 64 membership meetings and another 64 polling locations the No Frills membership voted 78% in favour of the memorandum of agreement reached between the union and company.
Your bargaining committee thanks the No Frills membership for its support and strong strike mandate as well as their attendance at the membership/ratification meetings and polling locations.

On Saturday November 19, 2011, following 3 more days of difficult bargaining, your union negotiating committee has reached a tentative agreement with No Frills.

90% - Strong Strike Mandate Shows Solidarity
In a show of solidarity, over the course of 6 days and 64 meetings across Ontario, store workers at No Frills and Guildwood Valumart who are members of UFCW Canada Local 1000A came out and voted and sent an overwhelmingly clear message that their bargaining committee has a strong mandate to strike.
The local union executive and bargaining committee would like to thank the membership for their participation and continued support of their bargaining committee.
Local 1000A and the company have agreed to return to the bargaining table on November 17 and 18, 2011.

Company and Union Agree to Return to Bargaining Table
While we continue our strike votes, the company and the union have agreed to return to the bargaining table.
Next dates have been set for November 17 and 18, 2011. As we have confirmed for our membership during our strike votes, the union will return to the bargaining table with the same intention as we had since negotiations stalled.
Our goal is to reach an agreement which maintains what we have achieved over the years and which provides for the advancement and security of our membership into the future.

Strong Strike Mandate Needed
Negotiations resumed October 26, 2011 however, talks stalled late in the day as progress was not being made.
The union continues to advance its members concerns and very difficult issues remain unresolved.
A strong strike mandate from the membership is needed in order to show Loblaw Companies Ltd and its No Frills Franchise owners we stand together and are prepared to do what is necessary in order to maintain what we have struggled for over the years and make further advancements within the workplace.
While at this point, no further bargaining dates have been scheduled, it is time for your voices to be heard.

New Dates Set
Negotiations between the Union and the Company ended September 30th with the two sides agreeing to meet again. The next set of negotiations in concilliation have been confirmed for October 26 and 27, 2011.
While the major issues on the table have yet to be settled, your union negotiating committee continues to advance the concerns of the membership and seek resolve.
