Improvements to benefits, wages, bereavement language, job vacancy processes, and shift selection are among the key achievements in the new contract ratified on September 27 by Local 1000A members working for HMS Host.
The new deal covers 600 workers, including bartenders, servers, hosts/hostesses, cooks, and general utility staff, at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport. It was achieved after months of negotiations, which began in February 2011.
