UFCW Canada Local 1006A deeply mourns the death of our dear brother, Sebastian Aguanno.
Sebastian worked tirelessly over the last 43 years to serve the members of our union, most recently as a Vice-President with 1006A’s Executive Board.
As a member since 1974, Sebastian worked at various Loblaws stores across the GTA.
As a steward since 1975, Sebastian has held a variety of roles within the local union.
These include serving as the president of the Toronto Loblaws Great Food & RCSS division for more than 20 years and serving as the Loblaws Toronto Sector Vice-President on the union's executive board for more than 16 years.
In addition, Sebastian served as an instructor for the training and education department. He also sat on the OFL’s Health and Safety Committee.
“Our members, activists and staff will greatly miss our dear union brother, Sebastian," said President Wayne Hanley. "With his relentless dedication and activism, he has made a positive difference in the lives of so many union members.”
