Winning Entry:
For over a decade, our department attempted to get equality in the number of working hours that we received during our workweek. The night shift always got their 8 hours and the day shift always got 7 or less. We tried several times to fix the issue. I finally approached from a different direction and made some suggestions that were considered and with the help of our staff representative Dustin, the issue was finally resolved. I have since realized that with patience, reasoning and determination a common ground can always be found and problems can be solved. And I now know that with our union on our side, we always have a voice.
